Since I’ve moved to New York I’ve began to explore new hobbies, the first being pottery. After taking a class at L’estudio on my two month stint on the Lower East Side, I became hooked. There is something cathartic about creating something with your bare hands, and watching a block of clay transform into a fully formed object.
Last Sunday I visited my friend Sydney in her flat in Prospect Park to learn another technique of pottery called hand building. The beautiful objects in her apartment provided a perfect backdrop of inspiration to draw from. Thanks for having me, Sydney!Take a look at Sydney’s beautiful work, aptly called Milk and Clay.
